Helping fund Libearty's vital work
We built the Libearty sanctuary with Asociatia Milioane de Prieteni (Millions of Friends Association) in 2005, and continue to work closely with the dedicated team to help save bears from a life of torture and terrible living conditions.
Many of the bears were rescued from private owners and poorly-run zoos in Romania and other European countries.
Saved from lives of misery
In Romania, it was once common for bear cubs to be caught and illegally kept in small cages in public places, such as restaurants and petrol stations, to attract and entertain customers.
Now, thanks to your generous donations and support, very few bears are kept in such horrendous conditions in Romania.
101 lucky bears, some of whom you'll spot in the live stream, are now living a cruelty-free life in their high welfare sanctuary home.
