Enjoy jack & annie’s delicious plant-based wings and make a compassionate choice for animals!
Every year, football fans come together for one of the most anticipated events—packed with excitement, snacks, and plenty of traditions for the “Big Game.” But behind the scenes, there’s a serious penalty: the immense suffering of chickens raised and slaughtered to meet the demand for wings.
Fowl Play on Game Day
According to the National Chicken Council, an estimated 1.47 billion wings are consumed during the Big Game. This staggering number represents the killing of over 700 million chickens just for this one event. To put it into perspective, that’s the equivalent of 6,000 football fields filled with chickens crammed next to one another, just as they are in factory farms.
In factory farming, chickens are typically housed in tight, filthy spaces where they can barely move. They are bred to grow unnaturally fast, which often leaves them in chronic pain, unable to stand or walk. At just 6 weeks old, far younger than their natural lifespan, they are packed into trucks and transported to slaughterhouses, where they face terrifying and violent deaths.
A Winning Play With Jackfruit Wings
This year, we teamed up with jack & annie’s, a brand that’s revolutionizing the way we think about Game Day (and every day!) snacks. Its plant-based wings offer a delicious, cruelty-free alternative that’s kind to animals and the planet.
Leading up to Game Day, we encouraged people to pledge to skip chicken wings in favor of plant-based alternatives. Over 2000 people took the pledge, showing that the demand for compassionate choices is growing.
While the giveaway may have ended, you can still make a difference! jack & annie’s products are widely available, making it easy to choose plant-based swaps year-round.
