Helping animals in Chile after devastating floods and landslides
News
Severe floods and landslides hit Chile last month, leaving thousands homeless, severely impacting water supplies, and affecting nearly 30,000 animals belonging to around 780 families.
The country’s Antofagasta, Atacama, and Coquimbo regions have been left in turmoil after a hydro-meteorological event.
Our Disaster Response Team deployed to Chile to conduct an assessment and concluded that nearly 30,000 animals need our help. We are providing emergency feed and veterinary care to these animals in need. With your support, we’ll also be able to improve local animal management and train community leaders on how to provide basic veterinary care and administer vaccinations, deworming medications, and nutritional supplements to animals the next time a disaster strikes the area.
