World Animal Protection supporter climbing two mountains in honor of animals

19,942 feet. 2 mountains. 1 abiding love for animals... How far would you go to protect animals? For Scott Powrie of San Diego, there isn’t a mountain too high.
Scott shares on his blog how he will tackle the climb's: “Both peaks will be extremely challenging but nothing compared to the challenges faced by organizations like World Animal Protection that are working to help our furry, slithery, feathered friends. “
Scott and his wife Leigh have always considered animals to be important parts of their lives and family. Their dogs Buddy and Lhasa were both adopted from the streets in Malaysia and are dear, loyal friends. The Powries became involved with World Animal Protection when they learned about the horrific sport of bear baiting, which is now close to becoming history with approximately 40 bears estimated remaining to be rescued. As Leigh says, “Our ability to bond with animals speaks to the best in us. It reminds us of what we should aspire to - to being protectors of the natural world and the creatures that depend on us.“
